  • This is a NON-Spoiler review for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

  • This movie is awesome. As of now, it's in my top 5 best movies of the year. Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man

  • Plot Summary: "Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine -- distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear."

  • Let me just get my problems with the movie out of the way so I can talk about how good this movie was. Hey, Sony! STOP SHOWING SO MUCH FOOTAGE IN THE TRAILER! I'd advise you to only watch the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming and that's it. In some scenes, the CGI for Spidey didn't look very good. There are a few scenes at Peter's school, and the school uses video lessons with Captain America on camera. I hate the Captain America appearances. I feel that they betrayed the character for a joke. Michael Giacchino is one of my favorite composers working today. I was a bit let down by his score. I love his new version of the Spider-Man theme that we saw that video of. I really wanted Michael Giacchino to use that theme similarly to the way John Williams uses the Indiana Jones theme. I'm not saying it's a bad score. I just don't think it's that memorable except for the main Spider-Man theme that's used once.

  • I really liked the way we were introduced to Peter Parker again in the MCU. They knew we didn't want to see Uncle Ben get shot again. When we meet him, it's just his normal life. We don't see anything dramatic or emotional happen. It's just the way things are in his life. I realize now that there is one downside to that. In this movie, Peter has had his powers for maybe a year. With the origin story, you got to see him learn how to use his powers. When you watch him learn, you get to see Peter get excited about his powers. When Peter is excited about using his powers, it makes the audience feel excited too. In Homecoming, he has already had his powers for a while so we miss that excited feeling a little bit. That's not really a flaw but just something I miss a little bit.

  • If you've read any of my reviews of the latest Disney-Marvel movies, you would know that I have a bit of a problem with their humor. I feel that with the MCU especially lately, that they have so much comedy in their movies that it ruins some emotional or serious moments. Don't get me wrong. The MCU movies are hilarious and I love them. But sometimes I feel that they need to back it down a bit. And Spider-Man: Homecoming is way more comedically balanced than the last few Marvel movies. It still ruins some moments a little bit. If the Avengers start cracking jokes when they go up against Thanos, I'm gonna be furious!

  • Let's talk about Michael Keaton's Vulture. I think that Spider-Man has the best villains than any other Marvel superhero. You've got Doctor Oc, Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter, Venom, Mysterio, Vulture, etc. I think Michael Keaton's Vulture is on the better half of MCU villains. Most of the MCU's villains are pretty forgettable. They don't have their Joker yet. The Winter Soldier, Loki, Ultron, Ronan, Zemo, Red Skull, and Vulture are the top 7 from Marvel in my opinion. I really liked Vulture's motivation. He had a lot more depth than most MCU villains. He's like this scavenger and an underworld gangster. I wasn't a big fan of the way Vulture was introduced to us. When you see his suit for the first time, it doesn't feel all that villainous and is pretty anti-climatic. There's like two shots you could take out of the movie and his introduction would be 10x scarier. I would have wanted a bit more stakes and danger when Peter went against Vulture. Vulture overall kinda felt like a side character but still one of the better MCU villains. The humor ruins some of his best moments. However, there is one scene between Peter Parker and Vulture that is absolutely fantastic that has great acting from both Tom Holland and Michael Keaton.

  • That's it for my complaints. I know it sounds like I've got a lot of complaints but I really don't. Most of those are just minor things that I think could have been better. I loved the movie. The script is good. And the title is absolutely perfect. Anyone who was worried about this movie being Iron Man4, shouldn't be. This is definitely not Iron Man 4. That was a marketing thing that I think was a smart move. But the dynamic between Peter and Tony Stark is awesome and a lot of fun.

  • The reason Spider-Man: Homecoming works so well is because of Tom Holland. Man! I just became a huge fan of this guy. Marvel and Tom Holland have absolutely NAILED! Peter Parker. Hugh Jackman was born to play Wolverine. Heath Ledger was born to play the Joker. Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. Robert Downy Jr. was born to play Iron Man. Tom Holland was born to play and is Spider-Man!! Peter Parker is pretty much the entire movie. Watching the hero's journey that Peter goes through reminds of a bit of Luke's journey in Star Wars. His new Iron Man type suit is a ton of fun. He has basically his own Jarvis which is a lot of fun. They made Spider-Man more of a detective than a guardian of his city. I actually like that because it gives us something new and creative. The rumor floating around is that Spider-Man will be the one hero that will usher us into the post-Infinity War world. If they kill off the main Avengers, I would love for Tom Holland to take over the spot as leader of The Avengers. I've got an idea for what Tom Holland should do next. If they ever get around to making Back to the Future 4, Tom Holland should play Marty's nephew who meets Doc and finds the Delorean. Hey, Tom Holland! if you can get a lunch with Zemeckis, pitch this idea. Michael J. Fox can appear in it. Christopher Lloyd will come back for the main adventure. I think Tom Holland could absolutely play a McFly.---continued in the comments.

  • I can't say enough about how great Tom Holland is in this movie. He is just awesome all the way around. His American accent is absolutely seamless. Tom Holland IS the character. He is without a doubt the best Spider-Man that ever lived. I want Tom Holland to be this character as long as he wants to. Tom Holland is a great actor. He's acting chops really show in one specific scene that gave me chills. Having Peter being younger is so awesome. He's pretty much my age. So to me, he's the most relatable superhero. Tom Holland's Spidey is the superhero I identify with. Peter Parker is supposed to be this underdog, an outcast. He's a normal guy with everyday problems who becomes Spider-Man. Peter Parker is supposed to be this kid that makes you smile. And again, Peter's journey throughout the movie is so much fun to watch. He does what I think every protagonist should and that's struggle. Marvel and Tom Holland have completely nailed that character. This is a quote from Robert Downy Jr. "The Spider-Man archetype is someone who becomes a man by becoming Spider-Man."

  • Overall, Spider-Man: Homecoming is absolutely awesome. In my opinion, it's the best Spider-Man movie of all time. It's an awesome time at the movies. Tom Holland nails the character. It's so good to see Peter Parker done right. My grade for Spider-Man: Homecoming is an A
