  • So the guy who played Chicken Little is directing a movie with Michael Caine where Michael Caine isn't fancy in every scene.

  • Plot Summary: "Lifelong buddies Willie (Morgan Freeman), Joe (Michael Caine) and Albert (Alan Arkin) decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow when their pension funds become a corporate casualty. Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three men risk it all by embarking on a daring adventure to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money."

  • Going in Style is an okay comedy. The whole movie is a long string of chuckles. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin all play likable characters. The movie actually did a good job of making me feel like they hate being old specifically in a scene between Morgan Freeman and his granddaughter on Skype early in the movie. But the comedy is just "meh" with only a few really good laughs. Most of the jokes aren't as funny as the filmmakers think they are. My favorite part of the whole movie was the awesome surprise that Christopher Lloyd is in this movie. I miss that guy so much. I was so excited to see him here. His scenes were some of the best in the movie.

  • Other than the comedy being just okay, I've got a few problems with the movie. The editing was very annoying in a few scenes. There were quite a few scenes that are just plain weird and dumb and where people act completely stupid. The ending dragged on for WAY WAY too long. And I really didn't like whenever the movie tried to make it feel like a heist film by using things like graphics all over the place. And my biggest complaint of the entire movie was one actress that's only in a couple scenes that is AWFUL. I looked up her name and it's Siobhan Fallon Hogan. You may recognize her from the crap movie Daddy Day Care that she is also terrible in. She's only in 3 scenes I think and she's terrible in all of them.

  • Overall I think that Going In Style is just an okay comedy. It's a light-hearted feel good fun movie with a few good jokes that will end up on Netflix. There were quite a few older people laughing pretty hard in my theater so maybe you'll enjoy a lot like them. It's a harmless comedy that's mostly clean for families. I think you'll be perfectly fine waiting until this movie is on Netflix. My grade for Going in Style is a C+
